Learning a simple song is a great way to musically apply the things you learn. One of my favourite beginner drum songs to teach is "Yellow" by Coldplay. This is a very well known song that is a popular choice among guitarists and pianists. It was the first multi-national hit that launched Coldplay into the main stream. In this lesson, I'll show you all of the parts and we'll practice them together.

We love our Drums Teacher!

Jan 19/2026

As a parent, I am very happy with Kevin’s one-on-one drum classes with my child, Lucas. He is consistently punctual and demonstrates a high level of professionalism. Kevin is very focused in his teaching, providing clear instructions that are easy to follow.

What I appreciate most is his ability to adjust his approach to match the student’s level, ensuring that Lucas feels both challenged and supported. His teaching style is objective and structured, which helps Lucas stay motivated and progress steadily. Lucas always looks forward to their meetings, which shows how much he enjoys and values Kevin’s lessons. Even though the classes are conducted via Zoom, it feels as if they are having them face-to-face.

Overall, Kevin’s dedication and skill as a teacher make him an excellent mentor, and I am grateful for the positive impact he has had on Lucas’s musical journey.

I love the live lessons - helpful and a ton of fun

Jan 14/2026

I’m a new-ish and sporadic drummer, and the live lessons are something I genuinely look forward to every few weeks. Kevin is an excellent teacher who meets you exactly where you are and keeps things fun, practical, and easy to apply right away. The live format makes a big difference for me as it blocks the time and gets me focused on practicing in ways I might not choose on my own. I always leave more motivated and excited to practice. Highly recommend the live lessons for any drummer!
